چکیده

Wettability patterning of a surface is passive method to manipulate the flow and heat transport mechanism in many physical processes industrial applications. This paper proposes rational wettability pattern comprised multiple superhydrophilic wedges on superhydrophobic background, which can continuously remove impacted spray droplets from horizontal surface. We observed that falling wedge region spread form thin liquid film, passively transported away However, most move towards without any flooding. The physics film also delved into using numerical modelling. In particular, we elucidate different modes droplet interaction droplets. dynamics could have profound implications cooling systems removal study’s findings will be beneficial for optimization efficient patterned surfaces application.

Droplet Lamella Lift Dynamics and Surface Wettability

Droplet impact on dry, smooth surfaces remains an issue for a variety of important applications such as fuel injection, spray cooling, metallurgy, pesticides and coatings. The mechanisms that initiate splashing are highly complex and differ from those on rough or pre-wetted surfaces. In this work, droplet wettability on a smooth, dry surface is examined to quantitatively evaluate its influence ...

Droplet-driven transports on superhydrophobic-patterned surface microfluidics.

Droplet-based transport phenomena driven by surface tension have been explored as an automated pumping source for a number of chemical and biological applications. In this paper, we present a comprehensive theoretical and experimental investigation of unconventional droplet-based motions on a superhydrophobic-patterned surface microfluidic (S(2)M) platform. The S(2)M surfaces are monolithically...

Effects of mass flow rate and droplet velocity on surface heat flux during cryogen spray cooling.

Cryogen spray cooling (CSC) is used to protect the epidermis during dermatologic laser surgery. To date, the relative influence of the fundamental spray parameters on surface cooling remains incompletely understood. This study explores the effects of mass flow rate and average droplet velocity on the surface heat flux during CSC. It is shown that the effect of mass flow rate on the surface heat...

Spray-Flame Dynamics in a Rich Droplet Array

We numerically study spray-flame dynamics. The initial state of the spray is schematized by alkane droplets located at the nodes of a face-centered 2D-lattice. The droplets are surrounded by a gaseous mixture of alkane and air. The lattice spacing s reduced by the combustion length scale is large enough to consider that the chemical reaction occurs in a heterogeneous medium. The overall spray e...
